  7. 1/2 Cup buttermilk
  8. 1/4 Cup milk
  9. Melted butter for topping

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder. and baking soda.

  3. Slice cold butter into the bowl of dry ingredients. Using two butter knives in scissor fashion, or potato masher to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until only coarse crumbles remain.

  4. Stir in buttermilk and milk with a spoon until dough forms.

  5. Lightly flour surface to roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick. Cut biscuits with a biscuit cutter, or drinking glass measuring about 3 inches. Place cut biscuits on prepared baking sheet.

  6. Bake until tops begin to turn light brown, about 23 to 25 minutes.

  7. Remove biscuits from the oven and brush tops with melted butter.
