Step-step making Easy Traditional kanelada Recipes>

  1. Place all the ingredients in a new pot and boil for about 25 minutes.

  2. Some foam can start to form so you want to skim it off.

  3. Keep it over strong heat.

  4. After about half an hours it will start to rise which in turn means it has thickened enough.

  5. Remove from heat.

  6. Strain while it is hot mainly because it will thicken as it starts off to cool and will be tough to strain.

  7. Set that aside to cool thoroughly. The end result will be a very thick thick syrup. Store in a bottle, preferably goblet.

  8. You can keep that in the fridge or at place temperature.

  9. To serve, load 1/3 of a glass with kanelada and then add 2/3 of normal water or crushed ice.

  10. Inside some areas where it snows, they will serve it with snow (which is definitely a bit counter-intuitive because when that is cold you want to drink anything hot, but if you are inside good company and next to typically the fireplace, it is extremely satisfying!!! )
