  1. 1 banana stem 1foot long approximately
  2. 1 potato
  3. 2 tbsp scraped coconut
  4. 1 tsp ginger paste
  5. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  6. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  7. 1 dry red chilli
  8. 2 green chillies chopped
  9. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  11. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  12. 1/4 tsp saunf and methi
  13. To taste salt and sugar
  14. 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  15. 2 tbsp mustard oil
  16. 1 tsp ghee

Step-step making Easy Banana Stem curry (Thor ghonto) Recipes

  1. Remove the outer layers of the banana stem. Chop the tender inner part of the stem into 1″size sticks. Dip it in water along with some haldi and salt. Discard the water after half hour and pressure cook in little water 2 stresses. Release steam after sometime and gently crumble with a masher.

  2. Chop 1 potato into very small pieces and fry in low flame till soft. In the remaining essential oil fry the dry red chilli plus set aside. Sprinkle cumin, fennel plus methi seeds and when they splutter, add the mashed banana stem plus potato. Add turmeric, red chilli natural powder, jeera powder, ginger and scraped coconut. Toss and fry. Add the stock of banana stem and let it cook till all the masalas are bound together to form a lump like consistency.

  3. Garnish along with broken dry red chilli and natural chillies, garam masala and chopped coriander leaves. Sprinkle 1 tsp ghee plus serve with rice.
