  1. for crust
  2. 1 cup maida
  3. 1/4 tsp making cookies powder
  4. 1 tbsp ghee
  5. 1 tbsp refined engine oil
  6. 1 pinch salt
  7. to get filling:
  8. 2 tbsp mawa
  9. 4 tbsp grated coconut
  10. 2 tbsp semolina
  11. 4 almonds sliced
  12. 1 tbsp raisins
  13. half of tsp cardamom powder
  14. a couple of tbsp sugar
  15. 1 teaspoon ghee
  16. 1 cup refined oil for frying
  17. a quarter cup sugar for thick treacle
  18. 1/4 cup water

Step-step making Easy Chandrakala gujiya Recipes

  1. Add maida in a bowl. Blend baking powder, pinch of salt, ghee and refined oil. Add water fifty percent cup approximately and knead into the stiff dough. Cover and set apart.

  2. Meanwhile grate coconut. Warmth ghee and lightly fry semolina. Add little sugar, mawa and grated coconut. Toss well till a lump like texture is formed. Add chopped almonds and raisins. Sprinkle cardamom powder and toss well. Set aside to cool.

  3. Make small balls out of the dough. Roll two balls like chapatti. Add little coconut mawa mix in the centre of one chapati. Smear water around the side of the round all over. Cover with another chapati and fold the edges.

  4. Make a sugar syrup till one string consistency. Set aside. Heat oil and fry the gujiyas in batches in low heat. Dip the gujiyas in sugar syrup and sprinkle chopped nuts. Allow to cool and refrigerate so that they stay fresh for a longer period.
