The ingredients Easy Kanchipuram Idli Recipes

  1. 1/2 mug idli Rice
  2. 1/2 mug Raw Rice
  3. 1/2 upward Urad Dal / black gram lentil
  4. 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
  5. to taste Salt
  6. 1 tablespoon Ghee
  7. 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  8. 1/2 teaspoon Peppercorns
  9. The pinch Hing / asafoetida
  10. 1 Tbsp Chana Dal / bengal gram
  11. 1/4 cup hot Water
  12. 1/4 teaspoon Ginger powder
  13. 8-10 Cashews chopped
  14. 1 sprig Curry Leaves chopped
  15. as required Water for cleaning, soaking and steaming
  16. as required Little Oil for greasing
  17. as required Banana leaf optional

Step-step making Easy Kanchipuram Idli Recipes

  1. Clean, wash and soak rice together with urad dal together or separately having fenugreek seeds for 4-5 hours. remove excess water, grind to coarsely to be able to a thick idli batter.

  2. Add salt to be able to batter and mix well. cover together with ferment for 7-8 hours

  3. Soak chana dal in boiling water for 30 short minutes.

  4. Soil peppercorns and cumin seeds coarsely.

  5. Boil normal water in idli pan. place banana loose tea leaf and grease or directly grease idli mould/ big pan/bowl

  6. Blend fermented batter. melt ghee in some sort of pan. add ground pepper and cumin seeds. stir for a minute. insert cashews and fry until golden darkish.

  7. Put curry leaves and hing. saute to get few seconds. turn off the cooker. add seasoning to the batter together with mix well.

  8. Add soaked chana dal together with ginger powder. mix well. pour typically the batter into prepared mould. for griddle or bowl, fill only upto 3/4th level

  9. Place in idli pan. cover together with steam for 15-20 minutes on channel heat. knife or toothpick inserted in centre should come out clean

  10. Allow to be able to cool for 2-3 minutes and demould. serve hot with chutney/sambar
