  1. 1 glass half boiled red lentils or masoor dal
  2. 1 potato boiled and grated
  3. 1 carrot grated
  4. 2 bread slices
  5. 4 tbsp ground chickpea flour or sattu
  6. some green chillies chopped carefully
  7. 1″ ginger chopped carefully
  8. 2 onions chopped carefully
  9. 1/2 garlic minced
  10. In order to taste salt
  11. Pinch sugar
  12. 1 tsp chaat masala
  13. 1/4 a tsp red chilli powder
  14. 1/4 th tsp garam masala
  15. some tbsp cornflour
  16. 2 teaspoon besan or 1 ovum
  17. as needed Bread breadcrumbs
  18. 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  19. as needed Refined olive oil for frying

Step-step making Easy Crunchy Masoor Dal Croquettes Recipes

  1. Boil lentils in pressure cooker just 1 pressure. Open lid after sometime and strain extra liquid. Mash dal and set aside. Boil 1 potato and grate it. Grate 1 carrot.

  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok and add the minced garlic and ginger. Lightly fry and add chopped onion. Then add grated potato and carrot. Add slightly wet and mashed bread, chickpea flour, salt and sugar to taste, green chillies, red chilli powder, and lastly add the mashed dal. Toss till the mixture is fully dry. Sprinkle chaat masala, garam masala and chopped coriander.

  3. Make balls out of the dal mixture and dip in cornflour and besan or egg batter and roll in bread crumbs. Crispy fry and serve with cucumber onion rings.

  4. Alternately these croquettes can be made flat like kababs and shallow fried with 2 tbsp oil.
